These paper dolls are inspired by the fashion industry and the joy I had when I was young. Like many little ones, I loved playing with dolls. I would create elaborate fantasy outfits made out of toilet paper, each a unique creation. Now that I am all grown up I wonder how do these fashion fantasies reflect onto the everyday person?

This mixed media piece features my original photography mounted in a 2" deep handmade white shadow box frame. The background was taken from an alcohol ink painting and the skirt is created from silvery dried lunaria, pinned into place by hand so that they catch the light and appear like sequins.
