Light and reflection star in my mixed media work as they become subjects in art that is inspired by patterns and natural elements. I use a variety of sculpturally shaped transparent and reflective fabrics to create ethereal and dynamic specimens inspired by insect wings.
Each one of a kind set of wings combines handmade 2" deep, white shadow boxes with hand-formed holographic vinyl to create specimens that are ever changing in existing ambient light. The longer you live with these pieces, the more is revealed to you.
